One thing that I have found interesting here is the concept of "public restrooms", which is different than in the US. Here in France, all the public toilets that I've found cost money, which is very rare in the States. Back home, if you are in public and need to use the restroom, you would usually go to a gas station or a fast food restaurant such as McDonald's. It is very uncommon to find a true "public restroom" like the one in this picture. Also, another difference is the level of cleanliness. Because they are free, gas station and fast food restaurant bathrooms are sometimes dirty or disgusting. This public toilet, however, seemed very clean to me, and according to the sign, it is automatically cleaned after each use! Very impressive, I have to say.
