"for correcting" :)

After a preposition (for, around, by, after, with, etc...), a verb goes in the -ing form.

OK , so the correct sentence is:" Thank you for correcting my mistake"
And the sentence :
" I thank you to correct my mistake" .
Is it grammacticaly correct or not.
I think the meaning could be a future. It could mean:" I expect you will correct my english and I tell you already thanks"
Am I right or not?
