"As thrilling as it gets" I heard this phrase lots of time while in Australia and never really managed to get the sens of it, the action was unfolding on a lake with a powerboat in it, actually so powerful that peoples when they came out shouted "Oh yeah it's thrilling as it gets !"  ???
Could anyone help me out ?

Bettina

Sure I can't help you"out".
I don't know what they mean exactly but in your story the guys were very excited and they like dangerous life. It's right?

Bettina

nobody try to help you? Had you found an answer yourself? ???

Freddyben

Bettina

Don't be sad :'(, someone will find it for you! ;) :)

Freddyben

I think Thomas is the only one who knows the answer because it sounds to be a slang.

Bettina

You're right. It's exciting to wait for the answer. It's suspenseful!

Thomas

Haha, ok, well here I am to the rescue! :P

As [adjective] as it gets! --> This is the maximum possible level of [adjective]!

So if you say something is as thrilling as it gets, it means that doing whatever you're doing gives the maximum amount of "thrilling" that you can feel. In other words, perhaps a simpler explanation -- To say that X is as thrilling as it gets is to say that there is nothing more thrilling than X.

Does that help?
