A lot of the time they try to sync up the lips and the words, or at least get them to have similar timing, which means they have to mess up the translation. I have been playing through Hitman on the 360, and I just played a level that takes place in Paris, and I could hear the French in the background, and it was pretty funny, but the subtitles that came up were nothing at all like what people were saying!
