I've only watched an episode, but that's typical English humour, and you can hear H. Laurie talk with his native English accent. That's pretty surprising ! I also came across a film for children whose name I forgot, in which he played a funny policeman and he spoke with his accent.

lemdani, I don't think you're wrong ! I think that's what Jack tells Kate towards the ends of season 4, when she wonders why he wants to get back on the island. 

And Caiomhe, I guess you like British humour and so do I !  I admit that Lost is getting very complicated, twisted and quite far-fetched at times... It requires a lot of attention, but I'd rather watch Lost than a silly show.
